At Hilltop Primary School, we strive to ensure every child achieves their very best regardless of need, background or starting point.

Our teachers have strong subject knowledge and engage in ongoing professional development to continually improve teaching and learning. Lessons are carefully planned using our enquiry questions built up from small steps and carefully thought-out schemes that provide a knowledge-rich curriculum, ensuring that learning builds systematically from year to year.

We recognise that children learn in different ways and at different rates. Teachers use a range of teaching strategies and questioning techniques to ensure pupils remain engaged and challenged. Regular assessment informs planning, identifies misconceptions and helps teachers provide timely support and appropriate challenge.
